THRIVING THROUGH IT

Supporting Local Parents and Caregivers of Pediatric Cancer Patients

Our mission is to provide mental health care for the parents and caregivers of pediatric cancer patients through individual counseling sessions, yoga classes, mindfulness meditation and community for a term of six months, enabling caregivers to thrive through the journey of emotional and physical commitment to the child.

Your Support Provides:

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING: Hospital resources do not cover personal counseling for parents navigating a cancer diagnosis and treatment of their child. In our Thriving Through It program, caregivers are provided twice-monthly counseling sessions (for the course of six months) with L4E’s partner therapists specializing in this trauma.

MIND:BODY HEALTH GUIDANCE: Parents of pediatric cancer patients are often “running on empty” with mandatory isolations and few resources to care for themselves. We provide regularly scheduled yoga classes and mindfulness meditation sessions within close proximity to the hospital, an essential detail for parents hesitant to leave their patient’s side.

COMMUNITY: The journey of pediatric cancer is isolating. Thriving Through It fills a void of lacking resources and enables caregivers to join a community of shared experience, insight and emotion.
